We'll land in Philly around 9:30, but once we get through customs and get our luggagbe and stuff, we probably won't be back to the school until around midnight. Please pray for safe travels.

Jamaica Day 7

Hello all! Today was a fantastic, worshipful, relaxing Sunday.
We went to church in Petersville (the community we've been working with all this week) at 1130 this morning. They had a Sunday school before we arrived, then some worship, which was upbeat, joyful and loud! Then it was our team's turn to help lead the service. Mr. Genter introduced our mini worship service, (Jeremy on guitar, Dave on drums, Josh on bass, Lauren on keyboard, and Joy, Lindsey, Katie, Nicole and Miss Reamer singing) where we played Lord I Lift Your Name on High (Reggae version), Revelation Song, How He Loves, and Came to My Rescue.
Admist our setlist of worship songs, a few of us spoke. Joy shared a Bible passagae that is very meaningful to her(Isaiah 43:1-4). Katie shared how How He Loves has helped her through difficult times. I (Lauren) shared how Came to My Rescue related to a life lesson, and Nicole spoke about the importance of all being rescued by Jesus. The message afterwards that was given was great, but a little challenging to understand through their thick Jamaican accents. We picked it up for the most part though :)
After church we had a great oppurtunity to go snorkling again, but this time right off of coral reefs! After a short time of snorkling, we walked along the beach looking for shells. This only lasted for a short period of time though, because the afternoon rain came in for the next hour or so.
Since the rain, we've been chilling at the house. Dinner is smelling great, which we'll eat very soon. Afterwards, we'll have our nightly devotions, then some more free time, which many of us will spend swimming :)
Thanks for keeping up with our blog! Again, we want to ask you for alot of prayer concerning our safety, team unity, spiritual growth, health and anything else you feel led to pray for. Also, tomorrow is our last ministry day, so we'd like to ask for prayer that we will be able to accomplish all our goals for this trip.

Jamaica Day 6

Today was our fun day. We went to YS Falls in the mountains of Jamaica! The falls were absolutely beautiful! The water was very refreshing. Nicole, Mr. Genter, and Miss Reamer were the only brave ones who did the zip line over the falls! We all had fun swimming and laying out in the sun We all got A LOT of color, but most of it was red unfortunately even though we all put on sunscreen.
Please pray that Katie finds her ipod, it went missing sometime today, and we can't find it anywhere. Also pray that all of us won't be in too much pain from sunburn, and that we'll all stay healthy for the last three days we're here. We have 2 more days of ministry, tomorrow we'll be in the church in petersville, doing a short service for them in the midst of their service, and monday we'll be finishing up the other 2 projects we've been working on.
We appreciate your prayers very much.
Lots of love
The Jamaica Team
PS. We're all DYING to know if Baby Bailey has been born yet!!!!!!!

Jamaica Day 5

Hello all!
Today we split up into 3 groups. Like yesterday, we were able to work at our ministry sites until a little after lunch, because it started pouring again. The Jamaicans have been telling us that this is their rainy season, where it is super hot, rains for two hours, then dries up again.
Dave, Greg, Mr. Genter, Jeremy, and Josh went to help give a strong foundation to a house that fell over in a storm on Monday. They dug up the ground underneath the house and started laying cement. The owner of this house is a 92 year old man,the brother of the pastor of the local church, who is very appreciative of our help.
Olivia, Lauren, Joy, and Christian played with the kids and did a small VBS with them. We told them the story of Jesus calming the storm, did the wordless bracelets with them, and sang songs. The kids were really receptive and listened very well. They are all SO cute, we had so much fun playing with them!
Lindsey, Mitch, Yewande, Miss Reamer, Nicole and Katie all went back to Dana's house to finish up there. They finished building the wall, put in the windows, and started on the electric. The house still isn't finished so some of us will be returning there on Monday.
Tomorrow is our vacation day! Our team will be going to YS Falls, a beautiful waterfall area. Please pray for traveling mercies and overall safety for our day. Also, we hope to be posting pictures today or tomorrow...the internet is just dreadfully slow, so it's difficult, but look out for them!
